Forget lying dreamily
on a table having your muscles gently oiled and kneaded. Traditional
Thai Massage is a very different concept, an ancient and respected
form of massage.
You will experience
a series of movements which have evolved over more than 2,000
years and afterwards you'll feel as if you're walking on air.
It is a strong revitalising and very effective massage - much
favoured by sportsmen and performers. Traditional Thai Massage
is an ancient blend of both Chinese and Indian techniques and
shares common roots with Yoga, Shiatsu and Acupuncture. Energy
channels called SEN-Lines run through the body (like blood vessels
but carrying energy which underpins all life).
Injuries, stress or
trauma cause obstructions or breakage's in these SEN-Lines manifesting
as weakness and pain. The practitioner works to rebalance the
body's natural energies by stimulating or calming the SEN, applying
pressure to points along these lines in a synamic process involving
energy exchanges between practitioner and client. This makes it
possible to increase low energy or calm down a hyperactive person.
The practitioner uses
hands, thumbs, elbows, knees and feet as appropriate and depending
on the size and muscle tone of the client.
Part 2 of the treatment
is almost like 'having yoga done to you'. Whilst remaining gently
relaxed you will be gently stretched and pushed into yoga positions.
This increases flexibility, energy flows and muscle strength.
The advantage of Traditional Thai Massage is that although you
will be stretched further than you thought possible, no force
is used and no-one is taken beyond their personal limit, yet you
will feel as though you've had a fabulous workout invigorating
both mind and body.

WHAT IS INVOLVED
IN A TRADITIONAL THAI MASSAGE?
A treatment will last
1 - 1.5 hours. You will lie on a soft mat in a quiet room wearing
warm, loose clothing such as a tracksuit whilst the therapist
works away the accumulated stresses and tensions leaving you feeling
wonderful - relaxed but ready to take on the world - and win!
