What is NLP and Hypnotherapy?
Nuero-linguistic Programming and Hypnotherapy are both sets of psychological tools which teach you how to live more happily, become more motivated, influence and persuade more easily and improve yourself in any area of life.

Nuero-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a philosophy and educational tool, which is designed to teach people how to think and communicate in more useful ways. It explores how we think and how we behave. It allows you to discover what's going on when you are doing something well and when you are not.It allows you to find out how other people do things. People have used NLP to improve their lives in many different ways.

NLP works through understanding how the brain works, how language affects the brainin specific ways and how to srtucture your communication and thinking to get the results that you want. Through understanding the ways in which people think and how to alter this through language, NLP practitioners can assist people to control their emotional state, change any unwanted habit or behaviour and communicate more effectively with anyone.

Hypnosis has emerged from early history to the present day as a powerful and effective technique, readily adapted for use in many areas of medicine and well-being. Healing in a trance state is one of the oldest medical arts. It enables the patient to access his/her own inner consciousness, and alleviate symptoms of illness in the most appropriate manner for that person. They remain in control, the therapist acts as guide and protector. Allied with NLP, the two methods may link together to help people deal successfully with a wide range of problems.

Every person has their own individual set of beliefs and values. For hypnosis to really work, these MUST be respected. Erickson, one of the great hypnotherapists, said “I've treated many conditions, and I always invent a new treatment in accord with the individual personality. I know that when I take guests out to dinner, I let the guest choose what to eat, because I don't know what they like."

What can they treat?
NLP and Hypnotherapy can be used to treat absolutely anything from simple phobias to ingrained habits and traumas...

Going for a treatment
The first session will usually be an assessment, and lasts for about one and a quarter hours. There will be questions you will want to ask as well as those the I ask. I will determine whether NLP or Hypnotherapy or a combination of both would be best for you. Your safety is my prime concern, but this will also enable us to devise a treatment plan and find out your preferred way of thinking. The nice part is that you do not need to tell me what you are thinking, so the content can remain private if that is what you wish. In any case, confidentiality is absolute. Simple phobias do not usually require the depth of a full assessment and smoking cessation is done as a two part exercise, which involves hypnosis.

How many treatments will I need?
It is hard to say how many treatments you will need as this varies depending on the individual and the condition being treated. A phobia usually only needs the one session, recovery from deep trauma requires more, sometimes as many as eight sessions, very rarely more. Your therapist will discuss this with you at the first appointment.

NLP and Hypnotherapy for children
Both of these can be used with great effect for children. I always give careful consideration before I decide which therapy is most appropriate. Magical spelling takes just two short sessions and other difficulties like bullying, low self esteem and adolescent growing problems can all be helped. Often the parents also learn some useful ways to help their child.

What will it all cost?
The initial consultation costs £65.00 and follow-up consultations cost £50.00 per hour. A simple phobias costs just £50.00 for the one session and smoking costs £150.00 for both one and a half hour sessions. Group therapy is cheaper and can be very helpful for smoking and stress relief.
