What are Flower Essences?
Flower essences are made by placing healthy flowers, at the peak of their perfection, into a crystal bowl of water that is then left in the sun. The resulting infusion is preserved in alcohol and carries the healing vibration of the flower. When we take a flower essence, just like when we hold a flower, that flower's particular vibration informs our own energy system. It is through this exchange of vibration information that healing can occur. Individual flowers and their essences have characteristics which, when we match them to our own mental and emotional state, can have a profound healing effect.

Essences are unique in that they are a source of intelligent healing energy. They may be introduced into any health care program, and do not interfere with nor are they adversely affected by other forms of treatment, such as homeopathic remedies or prescription drugs. They may be safely used by people of all ages, and can used for animals and plants.

The best known flower essence is Rescue Remedy, a combination of 4 essences created by Dr Edward Bach in the 1930s.  It contains Cherry Plum, Clematis, Impatiens and Rock Rose.

What can Flower Essences treat?
Flower essences can be used to treat a variety of physical and emotional problems.

Going for a Flower Essence treatment
As with Homoeopathy, Flower Essences are designed to treat the whole person and the therapist will discuss al aspects of your health and life before prescribing the best remedy for you. A consultation specifically for essences is available or they can be prescribed as part of a homoeopathy appointment.  The essences also work well with other therapies, in particular, acupuncture, Alexander Technique, Bowen Technique, remedial massage, and prescription drugs.

How many treatments will I need?
As with many therapies this can vary depending on the individual, but it is recommended that a follow-up appointment be made, so that the therapist can assess what progress is being made and whether changes are required to the prescribed remedy.
Flower Essences for children
Flower Essences are particularly suitable for children.

What will it all cost?
Flower essence appointments are charged a the same rate as Homoeopathy appointments and the first session is £50.00 including the remedy with follow-up appointments being £37.00. Children are £35.00 and £30.00.
